Radofin Advanced Programmable Video Game System 1292 & 1392 All Carts

Jens Brinkmann, Andrew Jenkins, Reinhard Traunmueller & Dieter Koenig, Andreas Link, five classic videogame enthusiasts of our Radofin 1292 & 1392 Forum sent us a lot of scans concerning this nice and at that time quite popular video game system. This helped us a lot creating a collector´s guide to all ever released cartridges for this nice Interton VC-4000 related system. These early Videogame systems were once manufactured in Hongkong by Radofin and sold by the following companies:

Radofin
-1292 Telesport Programmable (Advanced Programmable Video System). (Light grey and black casing).
-1392 Programmable Video System (black and silver casing).
Worldwide.

Hanimex
-HMG 1292 Telesports Programmable (Advanced Programmable Video System). (Light grey and black casing).
-HMG 1392 Programmable Video System (black and silver casing).
Worldwide.

Acetronic
-MPU 1000 Micro Processor TV Entertainment Centre. (black and silver 1292 casing).
-MPU 2000 Micro Processor TV Entertainment Centre. (black and silver 1392 casing).
United Kingdom.

Prinztronic
-Tournament VC6000 Video Computer - Home TV Entertainment Centre (black and silver 1292 casing).
United Kingdom.

Audio Sonic (as)
-PP-1292 Microprocessor/Telesports Programmable (Advanced Programmable Video System). (Light grey and black casing).
-PP-1393 Programmable Video System. (black and silver casing).
Europe

Fountain
-Programmable Video System. (Black and silver 1392 casing).
-Force 2 Programmable Video System. (White and black 1392 casing).

Neuseeland.

Lansay
-Programmable Video System. (Two different grey and black 1392 variants were released).
France.

Unimex
-Mark X Video Computer System. (Black and silver 1392 casing).
Germany (and maybe some other European countries).

Please note:

- Most of the carts released for the 1292 & 1392 systems came with two different cover artwork.

- We put the carts in 4 main groups:

Group one: Early boxes - title with red letters - simple illustrations - cover unnumbered (we call this the 30xx series). This group includes carts 3001-3014.
Group two: Same than group one but title with black letters in a yellow box. This group includes carts 3002, 3010, 3017, 3018, 3027.
Group three: Later boxes - more fancy illustrations - slightly different layout (compatible systems mentioned below) - cover with big numbers in the upper right corner of the cover (we call this the "Acetronic" xx series). This group includes the complete cart's catalogue from 1-34 of which cart 28 and 34 were never released!
Group four: A mixture of Group two and three: title with black letters in a yellow box & the fancy illustrations of the later boxes but missing the big numbers. This group includes carts 3004, 3005, 3006, 3015, 3016, 3025, 3030.

- The "Acetronic" xx series could also be found with Prinztronic/Fountain/Radofin/Micro Processor/Hanimex and AS label stickers on top of the cover - The "early" boxes had no big numbers on top of the cover like the Acetronic series but had a small 4-digit product number starting with 30xx. This early series could also be found with AS, Hanimex, Unimex, Radofin label stickers at the bottom of the cover.

- While the Acetronic boxes came in different colours, the "early" 30xx boxes were all black.

- All Carts had silver or black title stickers (30xx series had black labels from cart 1-14 and silver from cart 15-29 while "Acetronic" xx carts were all with silver labels).

- The booklets of the "early" 30xx carts were all black, while the "Acetronic" xx carts came in different colours.

- Overlays were same for all carts.

Sea Wolf - Cartridge Nr. 34

This rare "dual" cartridge was released by Fountain in New Zealand. It included Shoot Out (29) and Electronic Pinball (25). Thanks to Michael Davidson for this picture.

The different manuals:

1. The original Radofin 30xx series 2. The Acetronic xx series 3. German manuals that came with some of the 30xx carts.

Carts of the Radofin 30xx series came with black labels (3001-3014) and silver labels (3015, 3016, 3017, 3018 & 3030). One exception: cart 3004 came with black or silver label. Note: carts 3019-3029 and 3031-3034 were not released.

Carts of the Acetronic xx series all had silver labels (1-34). Cartridge 28 & 34 were never released.

Andrew Jenkins called our attention to some interesting differences between the diverse cartridges concerning labels, missing subtexts, typos, quality check stickers etc. (details are highlightened).

There were also differences in the layout, labeling and copyright of the manuals and the boxes (highlightened). By the way... The company "A"dvanced "C"onsumer Elec"tronic" ltd is written "Acetronic" in the short way. I guess you already knew this :-)

This "appendix" came with some of the carts.

This coupon came with cartridge 27 (Invaders). Note cart 27 was included in the Acetronic MPU2000 console package.

The Overlays for cart 3001 had prints on both sides (3001 Cartridge Overlay & Special Purpose Overlay).

If label sticker is torn apart (30xx series), the usual info ("suitable for...") like for the Acetronic xx series is missing.

The rare Hobbymodule came in a big box, 2 Manuals in Dutch and English, each more than 100 pages, the cartridge with DIN plug and 2 overlays. (Picture by Michael Davidson - Please check his wonderful website: Obscure Pixels.

Jens Brinkmann sent us these pictures of an obscure adaptor that let´s you use Waddington´s Voltmace Database Video-Computer Cartridges with your Radofin 1292 & 1392 System (and similar consoles).
